Flying Labs are operational in 30+ countries in Africa, Latin America, Asia and beyond.


We have an exciting opportunity to be part of the WeRobotics’ core team as a Writer/Storytelling Intern who will work with and support WeRobotics and Flying Labs in crafting strong stories, in line with the current needs of the network members. The position is ideal for individuals who approach their work in a creative and proactive manner.


This learning opportunity allows the intern to step foot in an international not-for-profit organization and gain valuable experience in the co-creation and facilitation of a thriving inclusive network alongside a dedicated team spread across the globe. You will strengthen your writing and storytelling skills all the while learning how local Flying Labs make an impact applying leadership, entrepreneurship and technology to solve social challenges. And yes, Flying Labs Really Are Different.


This is a remote work position. Candidates from any country are encouraged to apply, especially also from the continents where the Flying Labs are active (Africa, Asia and Latin America).


We are looking for an intern who:


  • Is a strong writer and storyteller, at ease with different cultures and communication styles;
  • Has academic background in journalism, writing, or equivalent;
  • Has experience in writing articles, essays, blog posts and/or engaging stories;
  • Is highly organized, proactive, takes initiative and has an entrepreneurial mindset;
  • Is native or proficient in English, with either French or Spanish as a strong second writing language;
  • Loves working with people from diverse places and cultures;
  • Is equipped to work remotely with minimal supervision;


Location: Remote; reliable Internet connectivity and quiet workspace required. 


Contract: Full time paid internship for a duration of 6 months. Depending on performance and available funding, this internship can evolve into a permanent position.


Roles and Accountabilities include:


  • Co-create engaging blog posts together with Flying Labs to bring their projects and activities to life
  • Co-create stories of WeRobotics’ and Flying Labs projects in engaging formats
  • Co-create engaging texts and collect strong visuals for all individual Flying Labs’ website pages together with the Flying Labs
  • Support the Visual Communication Manager in collecting strong visuals from Flying Labs and build out the media/photo library
  • Co-create short texts together with Flying Labs to enhance their Social Media presence
  • Improve and update dashboard number for communication activities (WeRobotics)
  • Support Flying Labs in crafting strong stories for their own webinars and other outreach options to share their knowhow with their local stakeholders
